Avantel is establishing a new facility in Electronic City, Hyderabad, near the airport, on four acres of land. This facility, planned to be operational by October 2024 and fully operational by June 2025, will house state-of-the-art infrastructure for space technologies.
This facility will have built-up space of about 70,000 sq, and will be used for both Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) and Satellite Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT).
Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS): Avantel has submitted proposals for the establishment of a GSaaS facility to IN-SPACe, ISRO, GoI, for consideration. This service will encompass Satellite Operation Centres, Mission Control Centres, and the reception and distribution of data and images from satellites. Avantel has also obtained a VSAT license to offer Voice & Data services in KU-band.
Satellite Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT): The new facility will allow Avantel to undertake the assembly, integration, and testing of satellites themselves, specifically for satellites up to 1000 kg. This capability is being developed to offer services for "building satellites as a service" to other companies launching small satellites (100-150 kg range).
VSAT Services: The company has also obtained a VSAT license to offer Voice & Data services in KU-band.
